The Haven Center is proud to recognize Juneteenth, a day that honors freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality in the United States.

Observed annually on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Today, Juneteenth serves as both a celebration of freedom and an opportunity to reflect on the nation's history and continued progress toward a more inclusive future.
